Koh Rang Yai is a peaceful island that's located about 4 km off the east coast of Phuket. Its western side has a lovely long sandy beach, that runs along it's coast for approximately 1km, and is often frequented in the afternoon by day trippers coming back from visiting the ‘hongs’ of Phang Nga Bay.
Swimmers will notice something unusual about Koh Rang Yai: the southward current gently transports you parallel to the whole length of the beach and the water is always warm at almost body temperature! The Rang islands are great destinations in either monsoon or high season, and have stunning long sandy beaches. During the high season, there is a resort offering different activities and locally sourced food is served in their restaurants which make lovely Thai dishes. There is also a pearl farm on the shore line which can be visited during your charter.
